Jesus established the New Covenant
with the human race by using divine
blood. The Old Testament Covenant that
had been established with the sacrifices
of animal blood was over and done.
Those sacrifices never pleased God
because they had no power to deliver
people from their sinful nature and
make them brand-new creations.
Jesus was the perfect lamb.
The New Covenant did for humanity
what the Old Covenant could not do,
and it tore down the wall of partition
between God and the human race.
But now in Christ Jesus ye who
sometimes were far off are made
nigh by the blood of Christ. For he
is our peace, who hath made both
one, and hath broken down the
middle wall of partition between us
(Ephesians 2:13,14). Through His blood,
Jesus broke down that wall so we could
reach the Lord and His throne of grace.
Unlike the Old Covenant, the New
Covenant makes people brand new
and holy on the inside. Therefore if
any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed
away; behold, all things are become
new (II Corinthians 5:17).
Jesus Brought New Life
The New Covenant brings people
back into the family of God that they
were divorced from by sin. The Spirit
itself beareth witness with our
spirit, that we are the children of
God: And if children, then heirs;
heirs of God, and joint-heirs with
Christ (Romans 8:16,17). There is such
great power in the divine blood that it
makes you a son or a daughter of God
and an equal heir with Jesus Christ.
What a privilege! What an opportunity!
When you come to Jesus and the
blood washes away your sins, your old
ways of living, talking and thinking are
gone. Everything becomes brand new—
that is the miracle of salvation and the
power of divine blood. And that ye put
on the new man, which after God is
created in righteousness and true
holiness (Ephesians 4:24).
The Old Covenant under the Law of
Moses brought forgiveness of sins to
people, but it did not give them a new
life. The sinful, Adamic nature remained
within a person; so once people were
pardoned from sin, it wasn’t long before
they went back into their old lifestyle,
habits and sinful ways. However,
through the divine blood of Jesus,
people received not only forgiveness of
sin but also a brand-new, abundant life
on Earth and eternal life in Heaven.
Abundant Life in Christ
Jesus said, The thief cometh not,
but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might
have life, and that they might have
it more abundantly (John 10:10). The
abundant life Jesus spoke of is not what
most people in the world think of today.
It is not a big home, nice cars or a large
family. It is not fame, pleasures, riches
or popularity. There are many people in
this world who possess and experience
such things, yet they are dissatisfied
and discontented. Some are even on
the verge of committing suicide. Others
are empty within; and they seek to
fill the void in their soul with alcohol,
drugs, extramarital affairs, sports and
pleasures of all kinds. What they don’t
understand is that the eternal soul
came from God, and it can only be
satisfied by the things of God which
come to people through divine blood.
What is the abundant life Jesus
spoke of? It is having living reality
in God the Father, the Son and the
