God. Then God made him second in
command over all the land of Egypt.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph,
Forasmuch as God hath shewed
thee all this, there is none so
discreet and wise as thou art:
Thou shalt be over my house, and
according unto thy word shall all
my people be ruled: only in the
throne will I be greater than thou
(Genesis 41:39,40).
Daniel had been captured, taken from
his homeland and made to be a slave
and a eunuch. Under such awful circumstances,
many people would have given
up on God; but Daniel loved God with
all of his heart, and he held fast to Him.
Daniel was thrown into a lions’ den and
should have surely died; but because he
held on, God protected him.
When the king checked on Daniel
the next morning, he said, O king, live
forever. My God hath sent his angel,
and hath shut the lions’ mouths,
that they have not hurt me: forasmuch
as before him innocency was
found in me; and also before thee,
O king, have I done no hurt (Daniel
6:21,22).
The Hebrew boys were told they
would have to bow to an idol or be
thrown into a fiery furnace; but like
Daniel, they held on to God and didn’t
compromise. The fire was so hot that it
killed the men who threw them in; but
when the king looked into the furnace,
he was astonished to see not just the
three boys but a fourth man as well. He
asked, Did not we cast three men
bound into the midst of the fire?
They answered and said unto the
king, True, O king. He answered
and said, Lo, I see four men loose,
walking in the midst of the fire, and
they have no hurt; and the form
of the fourth is like the Son of God
(Daniel 3:24,25).
Those three boys had paid a big
price, but they never let go of the
promises of God; and the Lord was with
them in an amazing way. You can’t let
go of God or His promises either.
Hold On Through Faith
Divine faith is what will give you
the strength to hold on, and the Bible
says faith is a gift from God. God hath
dealt to every man the measure of
faith (Romans 12:3). As you use that
measure of faith, the Lord will give you
another and another. You can have as
much faith as you need as long as you
hold on, believe God will do what He
has said and use the faith He has made
available to you.
Study Hebrews 11, the faith chapter.
Those saints of God suffered horrible
persecutions and faced many trying
situations, but they held on to God with
great, divine faith. Today, many of God’s
people are too easily discouraged, but
that should not be. God has a perfect
plan for all of His children to follow that
will give them the strength, the courage
and the ability to journey on.
If you want to follow the plan of
God for your life, you can’t hold on to
a promise of God for just a little while
and then let go. You have to continue
to hold on through prayer, fasting and
living in the Word until that promise is
fulfilled. Only through those three steps
will you be able to endure the suffering
of this life and have divine, miracle
power working for you all the time.
Accept Jesus and Hold On
Bible days are here, and you must
hold fast to all God has said because
the Rapture is just ahead. Jesus said,
Therefore be ye also ready: for in
such an hour as ye think not the
Son of man cometh (Matthew 24:44).
There is just one flight out, and you can
be on board if you are spotless before
the Lord. That he might present it
to himself a glorious church, not
having spot, or wrinkle, or any such
