of speaking in tongues. It is not an option; it
is a commandment. The Bible says that Jesus
commanded them the disciples that they
should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait
for the promise of the Father, which, saith
he, ye have heard of me (Acts 1:4).
The Lord gave Rev. Angley the book Things
You Need to Know about the Holy Ghost, and
that book explains the seven conditions you
must meet to be able to receive the baptism
of the Holy Ghost. If you have been actively
seeking the Holy Ghost but don’t seem to be
getting anywhere, you need to weigh yourself
on these seven conditions to see if you meet
the qualifications.
Forgive Others
The first condition is that you
must have forgiveness in your
heart. Just as God forgave you,
you must carry that same forgiveness
to others. For if ye forgive
men their trespasses, your
heavenly Father will also forgive
you: But if ye forgive not men
their trespasses, neither will your
Father forgive your trespasses
(Matthew 6:14,15). That is a profound
scripture. You need to forgive
others for what they have done
to you if you want forgiveness in
return.
I talked with a father who shared
a tragic and heart-wrenching story with me.
One day, he received news that no parent ever
wants to hear—his 11-year-old son had been
stabbed to death. He was shocked and devastated,
but there was nothing he could do.
He couldn’t turn back time and prevent the
attack from happening.
The devil began bringing all kinds of torment
to that father’s mind because he wanted
to destroy him with anger and resentment.
The devil continued planting those seeds until
the father’s soul was on the verge of being
destroyed. The only way he was able to come
out of that dark valley with victory was to
yield to the divine love and grace of God and
take on the spirit of divine forgiveness for the
person who had unjustly taken his son’s life.
If you had been in that father’s position,
would you have come out of the valley on the
side of divine forgiveness? Paul wrote, Follow
peace with all men, and holiness, without
which no man shall see the Lord: Looking
diligently lest any man fail of the grace
of God; lest any root of bitterness springing
up trouble you, and thereby many be
defiled (Hebrews 12:14,15).
You can’t ever let bitterness and resentment
take over your heart and defile you. The Holy
Ghost will not reside in a vessel that has bitterness
and resentment in it toward others.
Become a Child of God
The second condition is sonship. If you
want to receive the baptism of the Holy
Ghost, you must become a son or a daughter
of God. Your soul must be cleansed
of every sin through the blood of
Jesus. Only then will the Holy Ghost
be able to dwell on the inside of
you. Would you want to move into a
house that was filthy and full of clutter?
Of course you wouldn’t. So why
do you think the Holy Ghost would
want to move into a vessel that is
contaminated? He will not do it.
When you become a son or daughter
of God, He will send forth His
Spirit into your heart. Because ye are
sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit
of his Son into your hearts, crying,
Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art
no more a servant, but a son; and if a son,
then an heir of God through Christ (Galatians
4:6,7).
There are many people today who claim
they are Christians, but they live like the
world. The Bible says, Ye shall know them
by their fruits (Matthew 7:16). If a person
is living unholy, they are not one of God’s
children; and they do not meet the condition
of sonship. They are considered to be illegitimate
and not an heir of God.
If you are in the image of Jesus, then you are
in the image of the Father. Jesus said, He that
hath seen me hath seen the Father (John
14:9). You must have a relationship with the
Father to be able to receive the baptism of the
Holy Ghost.
