Singham argues that to counter
science deniers one must use scientific
logic. So he delves into the history of the
scientific method and how it works, even
for things we cannot wholly observe.
Singham, a Fellow of the American
Physical Society, is an adjunct associate
professor of Physics at Case Western
Reserve University and the retired
director of the University Center for
Innovation in Teaching and Education.
When the Ohio Department of Education
decided in 2006 to remove language
associated with the so-called intelligent
design theory from the teaching of life
sciences in public schools, he was one
of the 35 members of Ohio’s Science
Advisory Board who consulted on the
new standards.
