What’s Red and White and 30 Years Old?
Shaker’s gala fundraising event, A Night for the Red & White, turns 30 years old on
Saturday, March 5, 2022 – and everyone is invited to the party.
The inaugural benefit in support of the Shaker Heights Schools was
launched in 1992 by a group of pioneering parents looking for a way to provide
for the extras that are essential to a Shaker education, such as fine arts
programming, technology, innovation, and fitness.
Since that time, A Night for the Red & White has become a beloved community
event, raising more than $3 million to support programming and resources that
benefit Shaker students in every building. Last year’s event helped launch the
Educational Equity Fund, dedicated to bolstering the District’s diversity, equity,
and inclusion initiatives.
The 30th annual gala will take place at the newly renovated Landerhaven
in Mayfield Heights, now featuring Driftwood Catering. Enjoy dinner, dancing,
student performances, and an online silent auction. Music will be provided by the
No Name Band, featuring Shaker’s own former municipal Judge K.J. Montgomery,
