Marley Phoenix”
“BIEWER TERRIER
3 months
Guardians: Dr. William Farrar
and Debbie Farrar
Marley came into our family at the
perfect time and place. We had
three miniature Yorkies (Rocky, Sassy
and Teddy), ages 11.5 to 10 years, and
a Miniature Australian Labradoodle,
(Lexie) less than one year old. On June
2, our world changed. Teddy died
suddenly, possibly from a heart attack.
Teddy was Bill’s sidekick, and we were
absolutely devastated. Bill stated, “no
more dogs,” but then we saw a
beautiful, Parti-colored Yorkie at the
Marietta’s Farmers Market and our
hearts softened. I researched them
and initially couldn’t find any available
locally, but eventually found Biewer
Yorkies in Kennesaw. A litter of six
pups were born on June 10, eight days
after our beloved Teddy had died. I
was sure ours was one of the three
available pups (Sparrow, Crow or
Phoenix), but which one? We chose
Phoenix because we loved his
markings. At six weeks old, we met
Phoenix, and we were 1,000% sure. I
never thought about the meaning of
“Phoenix” until a week before we
brought him home: “rising from the
ashes with renewed youth to live
through another cycle.” He truly
brought life back into our home and, at
three pounds, he is a perfect playmate
to our Mini Doodle, Lexie. He is truly
the missing link in our home.
