Fetching RUFUS PHOTOS BY HADLEY(S) PHOTOGRAPHY
Hundreds of readers submitted their
furry family members for this year’s
cover contest, The Veterinary Clinic’s
Cobb’s Cutest Pets Contest. After
thousands of votes, a handsome Brittany
Spaniel named Rufus won the hearts of
our readers, and the contest. Rufus and
his family joined Cobb Life on the
Marietta grounds of Cobb Landmarks
& Historical Society for a fun day of
earning his 15 minutes of fame.
Rufus Moore
Age: 6
Guardians: Ryan and Robin Moore, Noah
(a seventh-grader at Marietta Middle School) and
Nolan (a fourth-grader at Midway Covenant
Christian School)
Hometown: Marietta
Breed: Brittany Spaniel
FROM THE MOORE FAMILY:
Noah had a stuffed animal dog since
he was born that he called “woof
woof” and, for Christmas 2014, he
asked Santa for a dog that looked
like the stuffed animal. When Santa
brought the dog, he left a letter
suggesting the names Rufus (we
assume it is as close to a name Santa
could come up with that sounds like
Woof Woof) or Nash (we lived in
Nashville before we moved to
Marietta). Noah and Nolan decided
on Rufus, so that is how he got his
name.
The boys are very close to him
and he alternates nights sleeping in
their rooms. He is very protective of
all of us and conducts frequent
perimeter checks of our yard. His
favorite things to do are going on
walks with Robin, chasing birds and
squirrels, and taking naps. He is also
required to jump around and dance in
a circle before he gets fed every
morning and evening. His favorite
(human) food is french fries.
We love playing with him in the
yard. We also love that the white spot
on his head looks like a heart.
